About Joel

Joel Ojeda is a speaker, author, preacher, and grief advocate whose life and message are rooted in faith, hope, and the belief that our hardest chapters do not have to be our final ones.

Joel's life changed forever after losing his daughter, Mia, to childhood cancer. The loss shattered the life he knew and left him facing questions about faith, purpose, and how to keep living when a part of your heart is no longer physically here.

What emerged was not a story about getting over grief. It became a journey of learning how to carry both grief and hope, how to trust God when there are still unanswered questions, and how to move forward without leaving Mia behind.

Today, that lived experience is at the heart of Joel's work. He speaks with the understanding of someone who has walked through devastating loss himself, and with a conviction that even after life changes forever, love remains, faith can endure, and purpose can still be found.

Joel is the author of MIA: Miracle in Action, a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, and a professional MMA referee. Above all, he will always be Mia's dad.
